Like a Mighty Rushing Wind

The newly finished Church of the Messiah was a beautiful facility and this very night experienced a supernatural manifestation as recorded in Acts 2. The only way to explain what we all felt and seen that night is nothing short of a miracle... one must believe in the power of the Holy Spirit and His will to fill the house with His glory.

This church facility started with a vision of Pastor Elmer, a pastor under the covering and connection to Pastor Gregorio Otzoy of the Church of the Messiah (COTM). Pastor Elmer was a former student in the School of the Messiah located in Patzicia Guatemala!

(Right) The photo to the right is of the cover of some blueprints we were presented in March of 2005, when we traveled to Acatenango with a team of 17 to help plant a church building for Pastors Elmer and Lucy of the COTM. Elmer grew up under the leadership of the Otzoy's and their ministry calling. David recalls, "I remember doing services for years in Pastor Elmer's home. We had even conducted Medical Clinics where the people of the community would come and we would share the Gospel with them and then Dr. Flora Otzoy would treat them with free medicines we had transported from the U.S.A".

We had been informed ahead of time that our team would be digging the footing and setting the columns of this new building going up on some newly acquired land in Acatenango. We brought workers, and we did start that building for the first floor. We went back a year later and worked again with a team on the second floor!

(Left) The photo to the left shows the church building after completion. You can see it from the Pastors home. It's the one with the Light Blue roof. During the Dedication Ceremony, just after a wonderful time of worship, Shonda and David had taken the platform to greet the people but the Spirit of God was so strong. Shonda made a statement about how real the presence of the Lord was at that time and suddenly, the building began to shake. We thought it was an earthquake at first! Then immediately, the curtains in the room began to swirl with a indoor rushing wind. You could hear it swirling. We looked and to our amazement, we quickly seen all the windows were closed! We were crying and nearly on our knees. The Pastors and the people were just weeping and many were on the floor. The power of His presence had shaken the place! "It is something I will never forget as long as I live" says David.
